Published by Skira Arte, Experiments in Love and Revolution serves as the critical companion to the Malta Pavilion. Edited by Margerita Pulè and designed by Alexandra Pace, the catalogue functions both as a record of the works of participating artists Adrian MM Abela, Charlie Cauchi, and Raphael Vella, and as an autonomous theoretical collection that extends the pavilion’s inquiries.
The catalogue compiles critical essays and interventions by an interdisciplinary group of writers and thinkers whose contributions engage with post-colonial autonomy, the sociology of protest, attention-capitalist temporality, and the structural limits of contemporary cultural production. Alongside these texts are the research drawings, imagery, and behind-the-scenes photos that form the pavilion’s visual archive.
An interview with the artists provides an insight and first-hand account of their creative processes, while the introduction provides an overview of the catalogue’s position and content.
